Soak Up The Sun In San Diego
If you're looking to experience some of California's abundant cheer, a holiday to San Diego could be just the thing. This busy city is located on the Pacific Ocean and offers some gorgeous seascapes as well as a huge range of impressive man-made landmarks and architectural achievements. San Diego is also a great place to visit if you're a fan of sunbathing or water sports, as it's home to some truly spectacular beaches and enjoys a nice, sunny climate.
Amateur and experienced sailors will find plenty to keep them busy on the shores of San Diego. Home to the Pacific Fleet of the US Navy, the city also has a rich heritage of sailing and maritime pastimes and visitors will have the chance to either sit back and enjoy being a passenger on a water tour or take charge of a boat themselves on trips to San Diego.
Animal lovers tend to enjoy trips to San Diego too, as the city boasts a reputation of being very involved in animal conservation. You'll also have the chance to see some rare animals up close in the extensive and well maintained San Diego Zoo and the amazing Wild Animal Park. SeaWorld, a water based theme park, is another good choice for an excellent day out.
If you have kids though, make sure you pay a visit to Harbor Seals, Children's Cove. This beach was origincally built for children to enjoy, but it has now also become a breeding ground for harbour seals, meaning it's a great place to spot the sea creatures.
Anyone who's hoping to live a little of the good life during their trip to San Diego should make sure to spend a little time in La Jolla. This upscale coastal community is the perfect place to chill out and do a little shopping as it's home to some excellent cafes, gorgeous restaurants and plenty of upscale shops and boutiques.
On the other hand, if you'd like even more atmosphere for your shopping trips, then a trip to San Diego's Old Town should suffice. Here, you'll find impressive buildings and icons that date back to San Diego's Spanish heritage but that are wonderfully preserved. What's more, you'll have a chance to soak up a little of the city's past with regular live history performances, ideal for helping you understand the magic of San Diego.
Of course, watersports are another big draw and many hotels in San Diego will be able to help you book lessons or rent you equipment so that you can enjoy everything from surfing to scuba diving off the beautiful coasts of the city.
