Why Writing Articles is so Productive - Article Marketing at its Best
Writing articles and distributing them to article directories is one of the most productive marketing techniques you can use online, and is an example of article marketing at its best.
The reason for this is that you gain in three fundamental ways that no other marketing method can do. In order to gain, your article must be well written and right on the button with respect to the topic and the relationship between the title and the body of the article. Any deviation and your readers will leave for something more relevant to their needs.
You must also include a link to your website in the 'author's resource' section of the article. This might be in a separate box provided by the directory or simply added to the end of the article. The page to which the link leads the reader must relate closely to the subject of the article, so don't write about cat breeds and offer a link to cat baskets. Here is how you will then benefit from writing articles:
1. You will receive a link back to your website from every directory that accepts your article for publication. Most will do so unless it is particularly bad. These links will help your Google PageRank that Google takes into account when determining its listing positions (SERPS). The more articles you write and submit to article directories the higher your Google PageRank is liable to be.
2. You are liable to receive clicks to your web page from anybody that reads the article. The reader must like the article for this to happen and must believe you to be well informed about your niche. You must also demonstrate that you can write clearly and write well.
3. Your article can be picked up by search engines and listed in the SERPs just like any other web page. You article is published on its own page in each directory, and that page can be listed. I have many of my articles listed on Page #1 on Google for their keywords, and they bring me in masses of repeat traffic. You have no work to do other than write the articles.
There is a fourth benefit that comes when people copy your articles for publication on their own websites. This happens more frequently than most people believe, particularly where a page, or even entire site, is monetized by Adsense. All the webmaster is looking for is some free content in order to get the Adsense published, and they can do that by copying your article complete with resource (and your link).
The more articles you can write, the more you benefit in each of these ways. You can achieve that in one of two ways: by writing articles yourself or having an article ghost writer do it for you. Either is acceptable, as long as the article is well written, reads well and is free of basic grammatical and spelling errors that tend to put people off.
There is a way to write articles properly for publication that will give the best chance of your article being accepted. It should be structured correctly, with a well-designed title making the best use of your keywords, and not too much focus on keyword density. The relevance of your article should be projected by means of contextually relevant vocabulary that goes beyond the use of mere synonyms.
Over-use of keywords when writing articles will result in your article being down-listed or even placed in the supplementary results where it will be invisible. Even a KD of 1% can be excessive these days, although you might just get away with it. The 3% I see bandied about will possibly be punished depending on the length of the keyword, since that would entail 15 keywords in a 500-word article - hardly room for any more vocabulary!
Personally, I use my keywords in the title, in the first 100 characters and in the final paragraph. Twice more each 200 - 300 words depending on the length of the keyword. You can use more single or two-word keywords than you can longer tail ones, so a set rule cannot be applied.
I have also read a KD of 10% being quoted. Are they mad? 50 key words in a 500-page article? Or 100 two-word keywords? That is a sure way to end up in the supplementaries. The best way is to forget about keyword density, and write naturally. Use keywords in the title tags and also in H1 heading tags. Make them bold, and then just write naturally about your subject. That will come through and get you a good listing.
Writing articles is easy if you don't try to follow rules all the time. Article marketing is as much an art as a science and all I know about it is that it works the way I do it. I get Page #1 listings with ease by writing my way. That's all you need.
