Rib tattoos – the new sexy tattoo trend

Rib tattoos are becoming the sexy trend nowadays as they are quickly rising as the new favorites among tat enthusiasts both male and female alike.  With tattoos becoming more and more popular, one needs to find a way in order to stand out and be unique in how they express themselves through tattoos.  And what better way to do it than have elaborate and colorful tattoo art inked on one's rib cage as it highlight the natural curvatures of the body.

So just how painful a rib tattoo is? The rule of the thumb in determining the level of pain is the more flesh in the area, the lesser the pain; therefore expect pain on a higher scale when its a bony area. Simply because, if its too close to the bone, there are minimal fats or tissues to cushion the skin during the tattooing process.  The ribs is composed of 24 bones that come in pairs so imagine that.  That's why, this type of tattoo theme usually takes 2 or 3 sessions to get done.  However, the fact that an amazing tattoo art awaits one's body is enough reason for them to go through it.  Although it can be extremely painful, they're obviously bearable or so many people wouldn't be sporting one of their own.  

When deciding on what designs to go for rib tattoos,  make sure that its something that you really love.  Since its a large area , intricate and detailed images are usually preferred to take advantage of this great body canvas.  In terms of placement, you can choose to place a design on just one side of your body, but you can also choose something that covers both sides or even incorporate a back piece that works its way around to the ribs on one or both sides.   Some prefers to start on the hip area all the way up to the side of the breast.  

Textual types of tattoos are very common on the rib cage area.  Quotations, verses, lines from a songs are made permanent by having them inked on the rib area as if to constantly remind them of the message embedded on their body.  Floral designs such as cherry blossoms, rose, lotus, lilies and hibiscus are another popular imagery for rib tattoos.  Animals such as koi fish, snake, dragon and panther are also another favorite designs not only because of they can be inked perfectly symmetrical to the rib cage but also because of the symbolical meaning attached to them.

Rib tattoos are definitely sexy, edgy and extraordinary.  It might be a painful tattoo journey but knowing the fact that an astonishing body art will be forever inked on you makes it very much worth it in the end.
