At the Institute of Electical and Electronics Engineers' international conference on Micro Electro Mechanical Systems, which was held on Jan. 18, 2009, these engineers presented this new lens. And this novel contact lens with electronic circuits attracts worldwide attention.
It is said and proved contact lenses with electronic circuits have the following functions: First, they can give some help to those people with poor eyesight. Second, they can also play a role in holographic driving control panels and the way to surf the web on the go. Of course, these contact lenses also have some other functions which need people to prove them after their using.

The lenses with electronic circuits are realized by sprinkling grayish powder of electric components on a flexible plastic sheet.
Engineers made the test on rabbits for 20 minutes. And the result is there are no inauspicious effects on the rabbits. Though the contact lenses contain an electric circuit and red light-emitting diodes for a display, wearers can not notice them when they wearing this kind of contact lens.
